NATURAKS - YOUR WARRANTY FOR CLEANER PRODUCTS

NaturAks® is a quality stamp from Valsemøllen for you who love to bake, both in the private or professional Kitchen or Bakery. It is your warranty that the flour is milled from grains, which is grown without use of straw shortener and conctrolled for defoliants. All our Danish flour is grown using our NaturAks concept.

We work closely together with a selection of chosen farmers, who vouch for that the grains are grown and harvested in a way that live up to our standards to ensure high quality.

WITHOUT STRAW SHORTENER AND DEFOLIANTS

Straw shortener is a chemical pesticid, used to inhibit the growth of grain, provide a shorter and stronger stem and thus ensure a higher return. Defoliants is a weedkiller that can be used immediate before the grain is harvested, among other things to ensure a higher return. We do not believe that either pesticides or weedkillers belong in nature - or in NaturAks®.

It is important to us that you never have to worry about straw shorteners and defoliants when eating or serving baked goods baked with NaturAks® products. The grain is supplied by selected farmers who grow the grain according to special instructions. It gives a smaller return and requires more control and handling than conventionally grown grain. On the other hand, it is grown and harvested with care for both nature and people – we believe that is good taste.



QUALITY CONTROL FROM SOIL TO YOUR TABLE

All flour and grain products for NaturAks® undergo control all the way from farm to table, i.e. during cultivation over processing until the bread is on your table. It is your guarantee that you can always enjoy a good slice of bread or a piece of cake without worrying about straw shorteners and repellents in your baked goods. Farmers who supply grain to NaturAks® guarantee with a sworn declaration that the grain has been grown without the pesticides mentioned. We know this because we check the grain in the field, at the agribusinesses and when we receive the grain at the mill. The whole process is, of course, supervised by an impartial 3.part. In this way, we ensure that we comply with the requirements of authorities and our customers.

THE CLIMATE IMPACT FROM VALSEMØLLEN

is Denmark's largest mill, and when we grind grain into flour and oatmeal at our three Danish mills, it emits CO2e. In recent years, we have therefore worked purposefully to reduce greenhouse gases in our production, focusing on more energy-efficient machines, less waste, and Danish grains.

WHAT MEASURES HAVE WE TAKEN TO REDUCE THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE MILLS?

  • We continuously invest in new production equipment with as low energy consumption as possible

  • We recycle compressed air for heat, e.g. our mill in Esbjerg has an oatmeal dryer, which is heated by surplus heat from the packing plant.

  • Power from Danish wind turbines and biogas with guaranteed origin provide green energy for the mills.

  • We continuously switch to LED lights on all light sources on the mills and in our packing facility.
